Interesting thoughts from a conservative view point.

Even though the war is not against Islam itself but against radical Islamists, President Bush still refuses to give this war its proper name. He refuses to alert the American people that they are not threatened by terrorism but by Islamic radicals who use terrorism as their device for geo-political ransom."

I honestly have no patience for radical Islam. It's a perversion. We are in a day and age where political correctness is enforced at all turns.
In the latter part of the 1700s Benjamin Franklin created a political cartoon of a snake with the words "Join or Die" posted underneath. By the time of the Revolutionary War a new design had been adopted. A snake accompanied by the words "Don't Tread on Me." The United States from the beginning has believed in that simple idea. Don't tread on me. Are we suddenly going to be tread on because we are in an age of political correctness?
Should we have gone into Afghaniston to fight the Communists? Probably not. But, we did. And we trained bin Laden in CIA tactics. That was our mistake. But, now we have to handle our mistake. We are losing a war to some douche bag who hides in mountains.
It is our responsibility as a super power to help those who need our help. We should be in Sudan, Rwanda, and the parts of Asia ravaged by the earthquake. Who are we to close our eyes to those in need? France helped us in the Revolutionary War and then we went and fought them in the French and Indian war. This is how it works. We helped the Afghanis fight Communists and now we are fighting them.
If we want this "war" to be won, we have to hit people emotionally and intellectually. But, if they don't want to learn, they won't.
