Mreh

Ugh, my stomach is still in knots. Blech. My carpet is clean at least. My head still hurts though. Gah.

I finished one of Kim's cds today. And I decorated them. They look hella awesome. I took a nap wrapped in my clean blanket.

I think tonight is going to end up being kind of Tucker Max-ish.

Sex dreams. I read somewhere that being uncomfortable increases our rememberance of dreams and the vividity of them. Does it mean I'm not over her if I continue to think about her in my dreams? Honestly, I'm not over Mariah. I probably will never completely be.

Jesus Hates... pt. 2

Etmol

Quick post before bed.

I went to the library today. Yes, I went to the library. I did homework there. After that I went with Kim and some of our friends to do laundry. They did laundry. I did homework. We ate breadsticks and polar pops. Gaiety was enjoyed by all.

God hates ... pt. 1

Swollen Glands?

The following home treatment measures may help you treat a painful lump or swollen gland.

-Avoid irritation.
  • Do not squeeze, scratch, or pick at the lump.
  • Leave the lump exposed to the air whenever possible.
  • Adjust your clothing to avoid rubbing the lump.

-Prevent infection.
  • Gently wash the lump with an antibacterial soap once or twice a day.
  • Leave the lump unbandaged, unless it becomes irritated or dirty.
  • Do not squeeze, scratch, drain, or puncture a painful lump. Doing this can irritate or inflame the lump, push any existing infection deeper into the skin, or cause severe bleeding.
-Apply a bandage if the painful lump begins to drain pus.
  • Change the bandage every day and any time it gets wet. If a dressing is stuck to a scab, soak the dressing in warm water to soften the scab and make it easier to remove the bandage.
  • Watch for signs of a more serious infection, such as increasing pain, pressure, swelling, redness, heat, fever, or chills.
-Apply warm, wet washcloths to the painful lump for 20 to 30 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day. If you prefer, you can also use a hot water bottle or heating pad over a damp towel. The heat and moisture can soothe the lump, increase blood circulation to the area, and speed healing. It can also bring a lump caused by infection to a head (but it may take 5 to 7 days). Be careful not to burn your skin. Do not use water that is warmer than bath water.

I like to copy Rob, he's a trendsetter after all.

Five Songs I Like
Bonnie Taylor Shakedown 2k1 - Hellogoodbye
I'll admit it, I learned about this band from the Real World. Sigh. The album that this song comes from has a lot of really diverse sounding songs, which is a nice find. It's defitinely worth the investment.
Black Stacy - Saul Williams
So Mariah's dad sent me this song. I liked it from the first I had it. His voice is beautiful and I love the use of piano throughout the song. The lyrics of this song are really powerful, and I'm surprised that this song is not more well known.
You Are What You Love - Rilo Kiley
I am learning to play this on the guitar. I saw a video of Jenny Lewis playing this. I was absolutely floored by how beautiful this song is. I think the song applies to any romance. Often people say that you can tell what kind of person someone is by the people who love them, but it's a better judge of character to see who a person loves. The person who loves unconditionally and loves everyone despite them. That is the kind of person we should love and have as our friend.
Science vs. Romance - Rilo Kiley
"I used to think that if I could realize I'd die than I would be a lot nicer." This song is about following your heart versus following your head. Emotion messes with us. That's not to say emotion is bad, our lives are guided by it. But there is a part of our mind that lets emotion get the best of us. And there is a part of our mind that tries to be logical. This song is about the conflict between the logical side of our brain and the emotional side.
On Love, In Sadness - Jason Mraz
Jason Mraz has been one of my favorite artists for a long time now. This song is extremely catchy, and it's funny that the title makes one think it's going to be a slower song. Mraz is a lyrical genius in my opinion. If you really want a good example of this check out I'd Do Anything.

God Hates?

I am innocently walking towards my apartment when I see a bunch of guys standing around with sings. They are preaching about God and how he hates something. This guy is just screaming nonsense. So I call out, "Who are you to speak on behalf of God?"
"I am a preacher of God"
This is when his comrade yells out, "if you don't accept Jesus, you're nothing!"
"Well I'm Jewish and I'm pretty sure Jesus was a Jew."
"HE WAS THE KING OF JEWS."
"But, he was still a Jew and not a Christian. You NEED to follow Jesus you idiot."

I almost speared him with his sign.

The best part of all this. They had a sign that said GOD HATES. It didn't say what God hated. It was like a madlib.

2594

Sitting here at 1:32 am I am neither tired nor wide awake. I'm searching for the perfect song to listen to. Something with a beat. But nothing too loud. I am not looking for the rage and power of rap or punk. Just something that you can nod your head to. I got a very cool Postal Service CD and I honestly don't think anyone else has it. It's amazing and perfect. I'm learning the song "You Are What You Love." It's amazing. I can never quite seem to get Rilo Kiley out of my head. So, I might as well learn how to play their music. That's really all for now. I am over my relapse, and back to being my usual ripsy-ness.
